Meet Chris Lewis
Founder & Owner, Canal Custom Builders
Canal Custom Builders was founded by Chris Lewis with a simple goal: provide homeowners throughout Richmond and the surrounding communities with a construction experience built on trust, communication, and quality craftsmanship.
With more than 10 years of residential and commercial construction management experience, Chris has managed projects ranging from kitchen and bathroom renovations to home additions, insurance restoration, and new home construction.
As a Class A Licensed Contractor, Chris combines hands-on construction knowledge with professional project management to guide clients through every phase of the construction process. Whether building new, expanding an existing home, or transforming the space already there, the focus remains the same: thoughtful planning, clear communication, attention to detail, and doing the job right.
Outside of work, Chris is a devoted father and a man of faith. Those values influence how Canal Custom Builders operates every day, emphasizing honesty, integrity, accountability, and treating every client's home with the same care and respect he would expect for his own family.
At Canal Custom Builders, we're not just building and renovating homes. We're building lasting relationships rooted in trust and service
Beyond the Jobsite
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his daughter, Atlee, golfing, following baseball, and building meaningful relationships throughout the community. He enjoys meeting new people, supporting local businesses, and staying connected through industry organizations and networking groups across Central Virginia, including the Professional Remodeling Organization (PRO) of Central Virginia, the Home Builders Association of Richmond (HBAR), and Team BOLD through 212 Networking.
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
